The Seeds of Independence met on Wednesday evening, October 25, 2023, with the representative of the European Parliament and the official of international relations in the Spanish Communist Party "’Manuel Pineda", and the dialogue centered on the aggression that targeted Gaza, where he stressed that the aggression did not begin on October 7 and that the enemy’s practices are evidence of his anger and confusion. UNRWA, in partnership with local community institutions in Beddawi and El-Bared camps in North Lebanon, launched a “Joint Awareness Campaign on the Dangers of Drugs” under the title “Blaha, blah, blah”. The opening included speeches about the importance of community awareness of drug control, and the importance of continuous solidarity between the family, the competent authorities of local community institutions, the popular committees and UNRWA, to protect young people from falling into the clutches of drugs, and to prevent their destructive effects. The interventions emphasized the continuous cooperation with the participating parties in the awareness campaign, which will run from May 30 to June 27, 2022, and shed light on the severe consequences of drugs on youth, families, and society as a whole, being the most important human element, and keeping them away from this danger.
