New Beam of Life Project
Supporting Pregnant Women and Newborns in Ein El-Hilweh camp and Surrounding Areas.

Since November 2005, Nuwat Association has been implementing the New Beam of Life Project, which aims to improve the health and well-being of pregnant women and new-borns. The project is implemented in Ein Al-Hilweh Camp, and in partnership with hospitals and specialized clinics in Saida, it ensures access to high-quality maternal and neonatal healthcare services while reducing preventable morbidity and mortality.
Target Group:
All pregnant women, with a focus on those who lack access to free medical services.
Main Activities:
- Maternal Health Services: Obstetric consultations, ultrasound exams, normal and cesarean delivery services, and blood units provision.
- Neonatal Health Services: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit services and pediatric consultations.
- Additional Support: Distribution of maternity and newborn kits, provision of formula milk for infants over six months, awareness sessions, health education posters, psychological support and recreational activities for pregnant women and mothers.
- Gynaecological Screening Campaigns: Early breast and cervical cancer screenings, and community awareness initiatives.
Impact:
The project ensures comprehensive prenatal, delivery, and postnatal care, provides a safe childbirth environment, and supports mothers, contributing to healthier pregnancies and resilient families within the community.
